Compliance still a challenge a year after Worker Protection Act
Nov 2025
A year on from the Worker Protection Act’s implementation, many organisations are still struggling to embed effective measures to prevent sexual harassment. The Act requires employers to take “all reasonable steps” to prevent such behaviour, yet a WorkNest survey found that 54% of HR professionals are concerned their organisation has not done enough, with 41% admitting that no sexual harassment risk assessment had been carried out. Training efforts also remain inconsistent, with only 45% having trained all staff and managers, while 34% having provided no training at all. With ACAS reporting a 39% rise in harassment related calls in the first half of 2025, experts warn that without robust assessments and ongoing training, employers risk legal exposure, reputational harm, and may struggle to build and maintain a safe workplace culture.
