Bupa survey shows quarter of employees suffer bullying or discrimination at work

Over a quarter of employees suffer from bullying and/or discrimination in the workplace based on gender, age or sexual orientation, according to research from Bupa.

In a survey of 4,000 employees it found that bullying and discrimination at work is having a negative impact on wellbeing, with nearly a hlf od respondents saying their wellbeing had been impacted by bullying in the last three years.

Women face particularly significant challenges at work, with 34% saying they experienced bullying or discrimination compared to 22% of men. Women were also more than four times as likely to suffer negatively from workplace gender discrimination than men (13% compared to 3%).
